PRICE AND MARKET
INTELLIGENCE WING
Price
and Market Intelligence Wing is functioning under the Economics
and Statistics Department since its establishment. This wing
monitor the market situation in the state by publishing a
quarterly price bulletin which contain the Retail Price Index
prepared on the basis of 24 essential commodities, Mizoram is
not yet able to construct a consumer price index (CPI) for urban
non manual employee. However, as an initiative taken by the
Government of India, for the construction of consumer price
index (Urban) for Mizoram, Market Survey have been completed for
7 urban towns in Mizoram as such it is expected that CPI (Urban)
will be regularly constructed in due course of time.
The Price and Market Intelligence Section also monitor the
weekly market price of Aizawl by collecting the weekend price
for essential commodities and wholesale price of various
Agricultural commodities for onward submission to Government of
India.
